Vermont Unclaimed Money Statistics

This site is one of the best in the union as it offers statistics and graphs, year by year, of number of unclaimed accounts paid, amount of money paid out and amount of money collected.  Non Profits and businesses also have unclaimed money and are searchable on the website.  Lost life insurance benefits can also be unclaimed property in Vermont.  In fact, A national multi-state initiative requiring life insurance companies to pay outstanding claims pertaining to their deceased insured resulted in more than $2 million in unclaimed property for the Vermont State Treasurer Office. This money represents unreported unclaimed insurance payments owed after the death of policyholders.
