Maine unclaimed money and property totals are $275 million. Their website has a live counter that is updated regularly with the totals. According to a report, the state’s unclaimed money department returned a record $18 million to Mainers in the last fiscal year with the average claim nearly $700. The total continues to grow by tens of millions annually despite these record return numbers. In that same fiscal year the state added $27.4 million.
